Your privacy matters to me. This Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected, used, stored and protected when you interact with Breathing with Ana, including when you visit this website, register for a Live Breathwork session, make a payment, contact me, subscribe to Between Breaths, or choose to receive future communications from me.

Breathing with Ana is operated by Azemind Consulting Lda.

2. What information I collect

The personal information I collect depends on how you interact with Breathing with Ana.

It may include:

  • your name;
  • your email address;
  • your age when registering for a Live Breathwork session;
  • your preferred language, where applicable;
  • information relating to the session or service you register for;
  • information necessary to manage your registration and payment;
  • your communication preferences, including whether you have chosen to receive Between Breaths and other communications from me;
  • records of when and how you gave or withdrew consent;
  • information you provide through forms or open-text fields;
  • information you provide when contacting me directly;
  • communications between you and me;
  • payment and transaction information; and
  • limited technical information generated when you visit the website or use the services involved in providing sessions and communications.

I aim to collect only the personal information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.

3. Live Breathwork registrations

When you register for a Live Breathwork session, I use the information you provide to:

  • process and manage your registration;
  • confirm that you meet the age requirement for participation;
  • process or confirm your payment;
  • send your registration confirmation;
  • send your Zoom link and practical information about the session;
  • communicate with you about changes, cancellations or other matters relating to the session;
  • respond to questions relating to your registration;
  • manage cancellations, transfers or refunds where applicable; and
  • maintain appropriate financial and administrative records.

These communications are necessary to provide the session you registered for and are not marketing communications.

You do not need to subscribe to Between Breaths or agree to receive marketing communications in order to register for or participate in a Live Breathwork session.

Where processing is necessary to provide a service you have requested, the legal basis will generally be the performance of a contract or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

I may also process or retain certain information where necessary to comply with legal, accounting, tax or regulatory obligations.

4. Information you choose to provide

Some forms on the website may include optional open-text fields where you can provide additional information.

I do not ask you to provide medical records or detailed medical information through these fields.

Please avoid including sensitive personal or medical information unless you consider it relevant and necessary to bring something to my attention before participating.

If you voluntarily provide information about your physical or mental health, medication, pregnancy, injury, medical history or another health-related matter, that information may constitute health data, which is given additional protection under applicable data-protection law.

Where I need to use health information that you have voluntarily provided in connection with your participation, I will use it only for the specific purpose of considering and communicating with you about your participation in the relevant Breathwork session.

Where required, I will rely on your explicit consent to process health information that you voluntarily provide. You may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting ana@breathingwithana.com, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before your consent was withdrawn.

Health information will not be used for marketing purposes or added to your Between Breaths subscriber profile.

Access to this information will be limited, and I will retain it only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was provided, unless a longer retention period is required by law or is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

5. Website and registration data

The Breathing with Ana website is built using WordPress and hosted by SiteGround.

When you register for a Live Breathwork session, the information you provide is stored within the website’s registration system and may be accessed through the WordPress administration area.

Access to registration information is limited to authorised persons who need it to manage registrations, provide the relevant service or administer the website.

Registration records may include your name, email address, age, session information, payment status, communication preferences and information you choose to provide through the registration form.

SiteGround provides the hosting infrastructure used to operate and store the website and may process technical and website data in connection with providing those services.

6. Payments and Stripe

Payments for paid sessions and services are processed using Stripe.

When you make a payment, Stripe processes the information required to complete and manage the transaction. This may include your name, email address, billing information, payment information and other transaction-related information.

I do not receive or store your full payment-card details.

Stripe may process certain personal information as a service provider acting on my behalf and may process certain information for its own purposes, including fraud prevention, security and compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.

Stripe’s processing of personal information is also subject to its own privacy terms.

7. Online sessions and Zoom

I use Zoom to host online Live Breathwork sessions.

When you access a session through Zoom, Zoom may process information associated with your use of its service, such as your display name, IP address, device and connection information and other technical information generated through your use of the platform.

Live Breathwork sessions will not be recorded unless I clearly inform participants in advance and obtain any consent required by applicable law.

I will not use recordings, screenshots, images or content from your participation for marketing purposes without your permission.

Zoom also processes personal information in accordance with its own privacy terms and data-protection arrangements.

8. Between Breaths and other email communications

You can choose to receive Between Breaths and occasional communications from me about Breathwork, upcoming sessions, workshops, events, practices, reflections and other relevant news from Breathing with Ana.

You may choose to receive these communications by:

  • subscribing directly through the website; or
  • selecting the optional communication preference when registering for a Live Breathwork session.

If you choose to subscribe, I may use your name, email address, preferred language and communication preferences to send these communications.

The legal basis for sending these communications is your consent.

Your choice is entirely optional and does not affect your ability to register for, purchase or participate in a Breathwork session.

Registering for or paying for a session does not automatically subscribe you to Between Breaths or other marketing communications.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link included in marketing emails or by contacting me at ana@breathingwithana.com.

Withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew it.

9. Brevo

I use Brevo to manage my mailing list and send Between Breaths and other email communications that you have chosen to receive.

If you subscribe, information such as your name, email address, preferred language, subscription status and communication preferences may be stored and processed through Brevo.

Brevo may also process technical information necessary to deliver emails, manage subscriptions and identify unsuccessful deliveries.

Depending on the features enabled, Brevo may provide information relating to interactions with emails, such as whether an email was opened or a link was clicked.

I use this information only as reasonably necessary to manage and understand my communications.

Every marketing email will include a way to unsubscribe.

Health or other sensitive information you may provide in connection with a Breathwork session will not be intentionally added to your Brevo marketing profile.

10. Contact forms and enquiries

If you contact me through the website or directly by email, I will use the information you provide to read, manage and respond to your enquiry.

This may include your name, email address, organisation where relevant, the reason for contacting me and anything else you choose to include in your message.

Please avoid including sensitive personal or medical information in a general enquiry unless it is necessary for your request.

Depending on the nature of your enquiry, the legal basis for processing may include taking steps at your request before entering into a contract or my legitimate interest in responding to and managing enquiries.

11. Website analytics

I use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use and interact with the Breathing with Ana website.

Google Analytics may process information relating to your use of the website, including technical information about your browser, device and interactions with the website.

Where consent is required, optional analytics technologies will only be activated after you have made the appropriate choice through the website’s cookie or consent settings.

You can refuse optional analytics without affecting your ability to browse the website, register for a Breathwork session, make a payment or subscribe to Between Breaths.

Information collected through Google Analytics is used to understand and improve the website and is not used to determine whether an individual can participate in a Breathwork session.

12. Cookies and similar technologies

The website may use cookies or similar technologies that are strictly necessary for it to function.

I also use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used. Where required by applicable law, analytics cookies or similar technologies will not be activated until you have given the appropriate consent.

You can accept or reject optional analytics through the website’s consent settings.

Refusing optional analytics will not prevent you from using the core functions of the website.

Further information about the cookies and similar technologies actually used by the website, including their purposes and duration, may be provided through a separate Cookie Policy or cookie settings interface.

13. Consent and communication preferences

Where I rely on your consent, your choice will be presented separately from anything you are required to accept in order to purchase or participate in a service.

In particular, registering for a Live Breathwork session does not automatically mean that you have agreed to receive marketing communications.

If you choose to receive Between Breaths or other communications, I may keep a record of when and how you gave your consent so that I can manage your preferences and demonstrate that consent was obtained.

You can change your mind and unsubscribe at any time.

Where processing is based on consent, withdrawing that consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it was withdrawn.

14. Service providers and who I share information with

I do not sell your personal information.

I use a limited number of third-party service providers to operate Breathing with Ana and provide its services.

These currently include:

  • SiteGround — website hosting and related infrastructure.
  • Stripe — payment processing for paid sessions and services.
  • Brevo — mailing-list management and email communications you have chosen to receive.
  • Zoom — hosting online Live Breathwork sessions.
  • Google Analytics — understanding how visitors use and interact with the website.

These providers may process personal information as necessary to provide their respective services and according to their applicable privacy terms and data-protection arrangements.

I may also share information with professional advisers or service providers where reasonably necessary for accounting, legal, technical or administrative purposes.

I may disclose personal information where required by law, regulation, legal process or a competent public authority.

15. International data transfers

Some of the service providers I use may process or store personal information outside Portugal or the European Economic Area.

Where personal information is transferred outside the European Economic Area, appropriate safeguards will be used where required by applicable data-protection law.

Depending on the provider and destination, these safeguards may include an adequacy decision, an applicable data-privacy framework or approved contractual safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

16. How long I keep your information

I keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and to comply with applicable legal, accounting, tax or regulatory requirements.

Information relating to session registrations, purchases and payments may need to be retained for the period required by applicable accounting, tax or legal obligations.

If you subscribe to Between Breaths or other marketing communications, I may retain your contact details for as long as you remain subscribed.

If you unsubscribe, I will stop using your information to send marketing communications.

I may retain limited information about your unsubscribe request where necessary to ensure that your preference continues to be respected and to demonstrate compliance with applicable law.

Information submitted through enquiries will be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to deal with the enquiry and any relationship that results from it.

Any health information voluntarily provided will be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was provided, subject to any applicable legal requirements or the need to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

17. Your data-protection rights

Subject to applicable law and the circumstances of the processing, you may have the right to:

  • request access to personal information I hold about you;
  • request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • request deletion of your personal information;
  • request restriction of certain processing;

  • receive certain personal information in a portable format;
  • withdraw your consent at any time where processing is based on consent; and
  • lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority.

Access to Live Breathwork registration information stored through the WordPress administration area is limited to authorised persons who require access for the relevant purpose.

I also aim to minimise the personal information collected and to work with reputable service providers.

However, no method of transmitting or storing information online can guarantee absolute security.

19. Children

Live Breathwork sessions offered through this website are intended for adults aged 18 and over.

I ask for age during registration in order to confirm eligibility to participate.

If I become aware that someone under 18 has registered for an adult-only Live Breathwork session, I may cancel the registration and handle the associated personal information as appropriate and in accordance with applicable law.

20. Third-party links

The website may contain links to third-party websites or services.

If you follow a link to another website, that organisation may collect and process personal information according to its own privacy practices.

I am not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or services that I do not control.

21. Changes to this Privacy Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in Breathing with Ana, the services and providers I use, the way the website operates or applicable legal requirements.

The latest version will always be available on this website, with the date of the most recent update shown at the top.
